I am a 41
yr old mother of four children ages 15-22..
I homeschool all of my children through high school. I help my husband operate our computer and software business
and am also the Director of Home Education Issues for Illinois
Eagle Forum, a political action group.
In my spare time I write curriculum reviews for a
national home schooling catalog company.
I am also the author of a book on home schooling as well
as many articles for national magazines on home schooling and
using computers in your child’s education have. Add to all this that I am on the road most weekends
from March-July speaking at home education conferences. I may leave on a Thursday and not return until Sunday
morning. That is
why T-Tapp worked so well for me.
My T-tapp
story began in July of 2001.
I ordered the T-Tapp program on July 27th.
It came the beginning of August and I really didn’t
touch it until around the 20th.
Being a skeptic, I had that little voice in the back of
my head telling me I was wasting time I didn’t have.
The little voice lost on the 20th when I kept
thinking about a dear friend of mine whose husband was told he
had to have his stomach bypassed in order to lose the weight or
he would die. The
thought of this man having to go to this extreme to survive
really hit home. How
far from this was I at my age.
Was God trying to show me that I was headed for this if I
kept going the route I was on?
I decided
that I would try the tapes and do a two-week boot camp. I knew in my heart that this wouldn’t work but since I had
paid for it I had to at least try it.
I am 5’1” and was wearing a tight size 14 at 176 lbs. I had tried and failed on Weight Watchers and felt that I was
pretty much a hopeless cause.
So here I
was Aug. 20th measuring myself for no reason because
I was sure this was a waste of time.
I watched both of the instructional tapes laughing.
Now I was sure I got ripped off.
This looked so easy that I was sure that a toddler could
do it. I was right about one thing; a toddler can do it a lot easier
than I could. Toddlers
still have their balance muscles.
I couldn’t do it but managed to keep it up for the
whole 2 weeks with my ability to do it improving.
I didn’t weigh or measure during this 2 week period but
after about a week I knew my clothes were too loose, I just
couldn’t bring myself to say it.
By the end of the two weeks I was down to a tight size
10. The scales
still said about the same weight wise and I was hung up on the
pound issue so I called the T-Tapp office and went on the T-Tapp
Forum. I found out
about Teresa’s Man Made/God Made way of eating.
The plan is simple where you eat only God Made food for a
number of days and then you have one day where you eat Man Made
Foods. I tried it
and started really losing weight along with my inches.
This was an eating plan that I could live with.
By the time
they had a clinic in Chicago in October I was down to 136lbs and
a size 8 or a tight 6 if I didn’t want to take any deep
breaths. I had
really slowed down as far as inch lose and weight lose.
I again called the office and found out I really should
go to the clinic to have my form corrected if needed.
I might not be doing everything exactly right and thus
hit a plateau.
I attended
the clinic in October and got some ideas for better form and
started losing again. By
the end of November I was a size 6 or a tight 4 and 126 lbs.
Again in
late December I hit another wall and stopped losing. I was 122 lbs and a size 4.
That is when I met the Illinois T-Tapp Trainer in
training, Katarina. I
started going to workouts with her and a bunch of other women
once a month. She watched everything we did and correct my form constantly.
It did so much to correct my form that I was a size 1-2
and 108lbs when Teresa came to do a weekend retreat and certify
Katarina as a trainer in February. By the beginning of March I
was a size 0 and 100-102lbs.
I did the CRT program from the very beginning and have
absolutely no loose skin.
In high
school I was 98-100 lbs but a size 5.
So the workout really does change your shape and you
weigh more at a smaller size.
I do the
workout about every other day but sometimes only 2 times a week.
I take the workout with me on my trips and workout in my
hotel room.
I never,
even for a fraction of a second believe that this would work for
me. Part of me
still has a hard time believing that it did.
I know that I am a size 0, but I still haven’t
completely accepted the new me as a fact.
Teresa is the one that gets the credit – I just did as
I was told and followed the plan that she gave me. More is not
always better. You don't have to or need to do the workout
everyday to get great results.
I still eat
the God Made/Man Made way eating 2 days of God Made Food to one
day of Man Made food and this allows me to eat what I want while
still maintaining my health.
I’m able to eat French Toast, Chips, Cookies –
whatever I want without feeling guilty.
Teresa
believes strongly in enjoying life AND being healthy.
To be honest with you I don’t feel that my results with
this program are unusual – they are common place and I have
met many women who have had even better results than I have.
I still do
T-Tapp approximately every other day but sometimes only manage
it twice a week. I
always manage to do at least a short 13 minute work out in the
mornings to get myself going. I take the workout with me on my out of town trips and
workout in the hotel rooms. At my seminars I hand out T-tapp
cards because everyone wants to know where my other half went
and how they can get rid of theirs.
Many of the other speakers have ordered the system and
now we all get together in the fitness rooms at the hotels and
workout together. It
usually draws a lot of funny looks and questions.
My
desire is to reach other moms and help them improve their health
and train their kids before they have problems. I would also
like to work with Teresa on her vision to reach autistic
and ADD children. She has already had great success with
the exercise program she has designed for children.
Carol
was featured in Woman's World Magazine in February. She
has also appeared on CBS Healthy Day Show 3 times, about women
and weight loss, T-tapp and the Metatreks fitness shoes.
